Recommended fabrics: light skirt material

You will need: silk; lining; clue lining; zipper; hook and eye.

Attention! Fabric consumption varies depending on the size of garment. First of all, print out paper patterns and lay them out at the width of fabric/ knit you plan to use, to see how much fabric you will need.

When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches- they must coincide.

Cutting:

Fabric:

1. Center part of front panel - 1 detail (with fold)
2. Center part of back panel - 2 details
3. Side part of front and back panels - 4 details
4. Facing to face the upper edge of the skirt - 1 detail

Lining:

1. Central part of front panel - 1 detail (with fold)
2. Central part of back panel - 2 details
3. Side part of front and back panels - 4 details

Fusible interfacing: press the fusible interfacing to edge allowances of lower back split.

Intructions:

1. Press the fusible interfacing to edge allowances of back lower slit (press the thermal interfacing on the wrong side with hot iron).

2. Sew together the central seam between the mark for zipper split and mark of low slit. Press seam apart. Press allowances of split edges to the wrong side.

3. Sew the zipper to hide its teeth.

4. Sew the front and back relief seams together. Sew side seams. Press seams apart.

5. Sew lining details together. Insert the linen into the skirt, wrong side to wrong side, sew it by hand to the upper edge of skirt, fold and sew to zipper edges.

6. Cut off the allowance on upper edge until it is 8 mm (1/4") width. Face the skirt upper edge. Fold the facing detail alongside, right side outwards, and press it. Lay it flat again. Fold one alongside edge of the facing to the bend and press it. Fold another alongside edge to pressed bend not approaching it by 2 mm (1/16"), and then press it. Fold the facing detail again along the pressed bend. Put the upper edge of the skirt between parts of the facing detail coinciding the edge with pressed bend. Wider part of facing detail must lie on the lining. Pin the outer part of facing detail. Fold its ends and sew edges together. Stitch it to edges. Sew the hook and the eye to ends of the facing detail.

7. Turn over hem allowance along hemline, press and sew it by hand. Work the split allowances. Sew the lining hem allowance so that it is 2 cm (3/4") shorter than the skirt.
