You will need: natural/mixed fabric; invisible zipper, bias tape, lining.

Attention! Fabric consumption varies depending on the size of garment. First of all, print out paper patterns and lay them out at the width of fabric/ knit you plan to use, to see how much fabric you will need.

When sewing the garment, pay attention to notches- they must coincide.

Cutting:

Fabric:

1. Center upper front part – 2 pieces
2. Side upper back part – 2 pieces
3. Side upper front part – 2 pieces
4. Center upper back part – 2 pieces
5. Front panel – 2 pieces
6. Back panel – 2 pieces
7. Front gusset – 1 piece
8. Back gusset – 1 piece
9. Front shaped waistband – 1 piece
10. Back shaped waistband – 2 pieces

Lining:

1. Center upper front part – 1 piece
2. Side upper front part – 2 pieces
3. Side upper back part – 2 pieces
4. Center upper back part – 2 pieces
5. Back panel – 2 pieces
6. Front panel – 1 piece

Instructions:

1. Stitch waist darts into front/back panels. Press front darts towards front center, press back darts towards back center.

2. Serge middle center front edge. Stitch middle front edge together and press it apart. Stitch side upper front part to center front part. Serge joining seam and press it towards the center.

3. Serge front panel’s middle edge, stitch it and press it apart. Stitch front shaped waistband to front panel. Serge joining seam and press it downwards. Stitch the bodice to waistband upper edge. Serge joining seam and press it towards the waistband. Stitch the gusset to front panel. Serge joining seam and press it towards the gusset.

4. Stitch side upper back part to center upper back part. Serge joining seam and press it towards back center. Stitch back shaped waistband to back panel. Serge joining seam and press it backwards. Stitch upper back part to waistband upper edge. Serge joining seam and press it towards the waistband.

5. Serge middle back edge and stitch it up to closure notch. Press middle back edge apart, press closure slits. Stitch the zipper in. Stitch the gusset to back panel. Serge joining seam and press it towards the gusset.

6. Cut straps. Fold straps along the center and topstitch at 0.5 cm (3/16") from bend. Turn straps right side out and press them. Sew straps to front neckline.

7. Serge side edges. Stitch dress side seams and press them apart.

8. Stitch waist darts into front/back lining panels. Press front waist darts towards front center, press back waist darts towards back center. Stitch lining pieces together. Serge seams and press them backwards. Trim to make lining hem even, press hem allowance towards lining wrong side and topstitch.

9. Lay lining on the garment right sides together and overstitch: front/back armholes’ edges as well as front/back neckline edge coinciding straps. Under stitch neckline and armholes. Turn under center front edges of lining and stitch them to dress allowances at closure segment.

10. Put the dress on, adjust straps and sew back ends on back part.

11. Serge dress hem, fold it under and topstitch at 0.5 cm (3/16") from lower edge.
